Hi, again!  I am Jong from Earth.  I am new to CodeIgniter.  Just explored since yesterday.  As I was trying out CI, my Frames.html won’t show the frame contents.  Why is that?  Also, where do I have to put my CSS files?  By the way, I put all my .html’s under my “C:\xampp\htdocs\bangungot\system\application\views” folder.  No .php’s yet as I was just trying to display my .html’s first by calling Frames.html from the controller (i.e., $this->load->view(’.html’)).  I will be glad for your “Ignitenment” [enlightenment]. smile

Hey there,

CSS: There is no designated place for css files.  The most common practice is to just create an asset folder on the same level as your index.php and drop them in there.  Then call them as you always do.

Views: They should end in .php (even if they only contain html) and you call them using their name only (no extension).  To get started, I suggest you watch the video tutorials and peruse the userguide.  It really is some of the best documentation ever.

Welcome to CodeIgniter.

I second inparo’s suggestion… The user guide is one of the best resources.  It truly is some of the best documentation around!

I think I have to agree.  I tried following Cake’s documentation/tutorial but I stuck at some points until I found CI’s.  It’s very concise, clear, and direct.  I was able to follow instructions and it really has the output it says.  Very good documentation and approach.  Congrats to the CI team!  By the way, thanks, FrankieShakes! smile

I’m pretty sure he was replying to the people he quoted raspberry .  Although the top posting did throw me off as well, you don’t see that a lot anymore.

Inparo, thanks for being observant and responsible in your messages unlike other “pickle heads” in the forum.

The signature is personal and it cannot help you about Code Igniter.  I NEVER replied to my own post.  Do you?  By the way, I’d like to remind you that this is a Code Igniter forum and you are not asking anything about Code Igniter or anything that could help.  Maybe you should consult a psychologist IF you have any behavioral problem.

Guys… c’mon now… remember that humour doesn’t always translate well - when in doubt…

EthanSP, great to have you on board, you’ll love CodeIgniter.
