I quite like the redesign and I appreciate all the good work that has gone into it. New logo is good nice too.
What is disappointing however, is the body text which seems to have degraded to a smallish size arial - it lacks character and has poor readability at this size, particularly on hi-res displays which many developers will be using.
There’s nothing wrong with my eyesight or LCD display, but when I scale page text up one size in my browser, the whole site looks considerably better and text is much more readable.
Text legibility should be given far more importance than it currently gets in web design. Text is there to be read, it is not just a visual entity on a page. There is also a difference between text being ‘readable’ and text being ‘easy and comfortable’ to read in quantity.
I would even go so far as to suggest that one contributing factor to CI being rightly praised for its excellent documentation was the fact that it was also a very comfortable read in terms of text size.
The site also needs consistent main navigation - main nav tabs shouldn’t disappear.
Finally, are the RSS feeds broken?
So, good work, but please think about text size.
