Hey all,

I recently installed Ran’s app on my server(s) [<—I’ll get to that] and wanted to see how it works. Needless to say it works great right out of the box and things are commented quite nicely in the code. I did run in to a problem though, the pagination links at the bottom of the page do not seem to work. If I click on the number 2 for instance I just get the loading bar. Thinking that it was the fact that it was on Media Temple’s Grid Server I installed it on my Bluehost server and it still gives the same issue.

Maybe someone has run into this or can shed some light on the matter. I have changed the base url to be correct and it pulls the first page of rants fine…

I’ve searched as much as I can and I now must ask for help.

Thanks all

-Lee

ran,

can you give us a small tutorial of how you used ajax in your app. I can’t figured it out from the code. Thanks. Appreciate it.

I just finished my first “real” app using CI… I♥Rant.com started as a weekend project designed to test drive Code Igniter. It is a simple app (no big whoop) that took about 8 hours to complete,  including the design and the ajax stuff. Another 2 hours went into making the css compatible with IE 7 wink

The site was created in order for you to have a place to complain about everything that bothers you.

Let me know what you think smile

10 hours total, 20% devoted to making it css compatible with IE7! That is either a condemnation of IE7 or css or maybe both…

this link is about websites that are using CI not about example code. Bamboo invoice and this application (haven’t looked at the code yet) are great for getting started with CI and learn from others. So lets put it somewhere where people can actually find it.

Good point.  Perhaps a new wiki page for applications with source code?

Which leads me to the next question: Why is the WIKI not linked from the CI homepage?

I have no idea.  My guess is that the wiki was created after CI was (much after) and it simply never was thought about.  There’s a link in the userguide…

I think a wiki page for source code apps is a GREAT idea. And also for tuts…

I love the visual design and I really like that you share the code. I can lean a lot from looking at it! I was trying to figure out how to make a page that is updated using Ajax and a real example like your is really helpful for that purpose

Kind regards
