In case you don’t check out Rick’s Blog, you might find this video of him laying down some blues on guitar pretty entertaining.  I think he’s pretty good, so I feel everyone should see the creator of CI igniting in another way!

I agree, Rick is a very talented guy!  I’m tempted to say that he should keep his day job, but in this case it isn’t for lack of musical talent, it’s because I really like Code Igniter!
wink

i think, music is a thing you can always to apart from your “real life” ... it’s a great fallback if you are stressed or pissed of with something or someone ...
i actually do have a band (http://www.planktonmusic.at - funny enough, i developed the page using CI :D) so i must know wink

EDIT:
well, since some of you posted their instruments ... mine are: guitar, e-bass and piano pretty good, working on drums (basic rhythms are possible), singing (in my band and in some choirs) and some other instruments that i played once or twice but never seriously like the violin, sax, clarinette and some others

It has been my experience that a very high number of programmers/designers also have a talent for music. I doubt it’s an amazing coincidence. I wonder if there’s been a related study. On that note, many of you may find it humorous that I play accordion in my spare time. smile Anyone familiar with Spanish genres, my interests are Norteño, Vallenato, and Tejano. Before work became such a huge part of my life, I played with a few local bands here in Houston.

EDIT: Anyone else who plays an instrument, please disclose it here.

I play guitar and piano some.  I can manage drums if you give me a bit to warm up.

I play guitar and piano too smile Yep, you’re right Joeles! My experience also prove that a lot of programmers/designers also have a talent for music. Interesting subject. I’m sure it’s not a coincidence. Nice to know you play accordion wink Ready to start a CI band? raspberry

Yes, I am, Gilles. You wouldn’t happen to live in or near Houston, TX would you? smile

I would! Sadly, I live in France. So far :( But I project to visit your country as soon as I can smile My acoustic guitar will go with me smile I mainly play rock/pop-rock/blues genres but I’m really eclectic. Do you know Yann Tiersen (http://www.yanntiersen.com)? It’s a famous accordion player, here in France. I love many of his songs. And just to know, which is your favorite Spanish genre? Tango? Tango Nuevo? (I think)

I enjoy just about any music out there, except gangster rap (hip-hop rap is ok). Now days, my favorite genre is actually Spanish Rock and there are a few Spanish Rock groups that incorporate accordion into their music. I’m not terribly familiar with Tango. Being of Mexican descent, I’m really partial to Mexican genres, thus the Norteño and Tejano (which is really from Texas). Vallenato is actually Columbian in origin, but is very popular with Mexican music lovers and there are also several popular Vallenato groups from Mexico. I haven’t heard of Yann Tiersen, but I’ll check him out. That was probably way more information than anyone wanted. haha Sorry. wink
