How does CI scale?

Do we have hard data to see how CI scales? I’ve read about applications that you can run on PC connected to a server through an eg. 100MB or 1GB LAN to simulate hundreds on simultaneouse connections.

Am I being optimistic to expect good performance for 200 simultaneous read/write connections on a single, dedicated server with Apacha and a single MySQL server?
