Zip files created on Mac OS X, PHP5 are not usable with Mac’s built-in zip tool or Stuffit. The UNIX zip tool does not complain about them though.

The error message I’m seeing in the zip tools is like: “Couldn’t read PKZip signature”

Anyone else seeing this?

For what it is worth… the problem appears to be related to how the headers are defined and the order in which they appear. The zip files created by the PHP pack() function and the Zip Library are usable but after they are transmitted across the browser they are corrupted. This happens in Safari and Firefox so it is not clear where the *exact* issue is to me… Apache? PHP? *shrug*.
