Looking ahead, we’re going to need some nice graphics for our footer links back to CI.
Obviously Rick should have the final say, but maybe he’d welcome suggestions/submissions?

I like the idea. It shouldn’t be hard to convert the logo you see at the top of this page to a graphic link. Rick must have the source file, but it would be easy to do in Inkscape. If it were provided as an .svg it could be scaled and such easily. And Firefox 1.5+ would display it without converting to .gif or .png or .jpg.

Actually, I’ve played and the logo graphic isn’t very good for a typical “web-badge” as they tend to be wide and short, but the logo is tall and thin.

Another problem is that “code igniter” is a long word for those small banners

If anyone has suggestions, I’d be 100% happy to try a few designs for us.

What about the words Code Igniter done in the style of the logo. The I could have an open dot with a tiny dot inside it.

EDIT: I mean the graphic style, NOT the Courier letters ‘Forums’ (which I don’t much like).

I think Rick’s “typewriter” typeface is a problem as it doesn’t scale down legibly. Also, as you say, the distinctive logo is vertical where we need something horizontal.
Any ideas for more slogans?  Probably “I’ve been framed by CodeIgniter” doesn’t do it…..

Ha!  I donno, I like it.

Well, “ignite your code” seems obvious… if a bit predictable.  I like the metaphor of “sparks” also, or “sparking” as it ties into ignite.  That might give something to play around. 

You know, Veerle Peiters uses Expression Engine and is just about the most talented logo designer I’ve ever seen…

If we get really desperate, give me a few beers and a nerdy friend or two and I can become the master of cheesy predictable slogans…

I’ve been flamed by CodeIgniter has a nice tongue-in-cheekiness to it.

It is a good idea… I would really appreciate if there will be some logos or small buttons.

I wrote one post about CI on my blog and I had to use the logo from the homepage - link (it’s in Czech, so enjoy )
