When is going to be made codeigniter 2.0 and what is going to have? Is it going to be base on the latest version of php and is it going to incorporate ORM, modular support ....

Any one have same info’s ?

As far as I am aware there is no public information about CI 2.0, because CI 2.0 hasn’t been announced as even being made as a unique codebase. Its just a version number that will be reached at some point, so everyone makes random guesses as to what the future may hold.

EllisLabs has made no announcements on dropping backwards compatibility and most likely won’t, ORM is considered something that should be handled by an extension (and I don’t see how they could do much more than just include DMZ by default, as making something better would be tough to manage), etc.

But indeed, no one really knows what the future holds. And if TV, newspapers, and the radio are any indication, that doesn’t stop anyone from pretending

I’m going to throw a shoe at the next person to ask this question.

EE 2.0 != CI 2.0.

It’s not happening just yet. All the awesome features written for EE 2.0 are separate to the CodeIgniter codebase. They have just extended and overridden the system to hell and will EVENTUALLY backport the features to CodeIgniter, therefore creating something that COULD be called CodeIgniter 2.0. It may be CodeIgniter 1.8, who knows.

It is old though.. weird how people have no concept of how to search. They will use google to find Erin Andrews porn and who knows what else. But when they have a question.. God forbid them search to see if the info is already there. It’s easier to ask and get Phil’s feathers all ruffled.
