Hey guys,

Thought I’d throw this up here to get some feedback.

Is it worth coding in Code Igniter from the concept you see at the page?

How long would you say dev time on a project like this would be?

With a system to manage blog entries, comments, portfolio submissions, comments, downloads, comments, site wide searching and some static pages.

The blog system would need category management and the commenting site wide would need an approval system.

Then I guess some JQuery integration wouldn’t go a miss.

Feedback to all of the above would be great along with any direction if possible.

Cheers

They’re not illegal but they’ll most likely gain you no quicker response…

Sucks much - does every post generally get a reply? A little off topic.

Typically, yes, posts tend to be responded to… but sometimes not as quickly as we might like.

Thanks for the infos, there are however alot of members. More so than other forums however they seem a bit more active.

Maybe Code Igniter just works, and there is no reason to keep hitting the boards.

I’ll let you in on a not-so-secret secret.  That total member count of some 66k includes the ExpressionEngine forums wink .

And just to keep this on topic.  The time it takes is directly related to how well you know CodeIgniter.  It is certainly possible, and if you look at D13s signature you might just find something to build on, so you’re not starting from scratch.
