What is a CodeIgniter Community Chieftain?

A CodeIgniter Community Chieftain is a member of the CodeIgniter community who has demonstrated an exceptional knowledge and love of the framework, fantastic coding chops, has maintained a positive attitude in the forums, and has made considerable contributions to the community.

What do they do?

A CodeIgniter Community Chieftain helps maintain the forums, wiki, and the bug tracker, and acts as a public liaison to the EllisLab development team when necessary.

Are CodeIgniter Community Chieftains employed by EllisLab?

No, CodeIgniter Community Chieftains are volunteers, and are not part of the EllisLab staff.

So how does someone become a CodeIgniter Community Chieftain?

As the need arises for a Chieftain, EllisLab will identify potential users from the community, and invite them directly to the program.
