Which Shopping Cart do you use?

I’m deciding on which cart to use as a headache-free alternative to oscommerce.

I’m looking at Magento, but there is a learning curve involved in modifying it as it is based upon the Zend Framework.
I’ve also played with cubecart and it looks easy to pull apart, but I’m being pulled in by Magento’s expandability and glossy marketing.
I was wondering which carts folks use and why? A prerequisite is the ability to talk to Cybersource.

So this is exciting. Wait, wait and wait is finally over now. Got to see the thing I have been waiting for long, ever since the first talks about it. I am already download the PB 1 and will be looking at the code base first to have a peek into how Codeigniter 2.0 will look like . This is going to be the day when either I will have to go the whole new way with PHP from here on or look at it the old way. Maybe as expected it will allow me do things better.

Hi,

I have a Linux laptop which I use to develop at home, however I need something for when I am on the move. Linux laptop has a mighty 90 minute battery life. Windows laptop has an 8 hours battery life.

What would you recommend for PHP development?

XAMPP or WAMP?
What code editor?
Anything else?

hi,

I have created ER model of my project and it is already approved. I have basic knowledge of PHP, css and html. I want to implement my project using codeigniter. I have gone through the user guide and have basic idea of codeigniter. But I can’t understand that where to start my coding? What are the different steps to start and complete coding of a project. Do I have to make views first? Do i have to make data base or controllers first? can someone guide me through the steps?

Can someone please explain me how to use the E-Text Editor Mercurial Bundle? I’ve read something on EE forum, but no one says where to set server/username/password.

I am hosting my project on a private repository on BitBucket, so at least this is what I would like to do. But I don’t figure how to update files, how to add them, etc. On SVN was easier, but now?

edit: E text editor can clone from bitbucket, but only commits on local repository clone. I would my commits to appear like here: http://www.bitbucket.org/ellislab/codeigniter/overview/

Before I start, whoever made the other intro with their title as $this->load->view is a legend :p It should be standard that all intro’s have that as a title :D

Hi im Alex aka Ecky. I’m a teen web developer by night and a school student by day. I have come across CI and I think it is absolutely amazing. Ill be using it for sure in my clients websites.

I’m knowledgeable in PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript…yadda yadda…all the usual stuff. I am currently working on the weekends at a design firm to do all their dynamic coding stuff since they barely know HTML let alone PHP there.
