Who’s a Londoner?

Hey, I’m trying to work out how many of us CI users are from London.
I’m not from London, but I live here, and would say I’m most definately a Londoner. (When you know what lines run at any given tube station, it’s scary!)

So, post in here if you’re in or close to London, because I really want to have a meet-up some time.

And, some members… I know you’re londoners, so don’t avoid this!

Editor/IDE dilemma

Hello guys, I’m having a big problem deciding which editor to use. Here is what I’ve got so far.

What is important to me is a good and stable Remote folders function/FTP.
Also syntax checking is important.

Aptana: Great looking and nice features, however the FTP is very unstable to me.

Zend Studio for Eclipse: Nice features and good syntax checking, but there is no drag and dropping of the text, and it seems to be heavy with freezes for like 30 seconds from time to time.

E-editor: This is very nice, but the problem is the FTP features are not very good, however stable. Also there is no automatic syntax checking. I have to manually do it everytime.

PHP-Desinger: Good program, but if you use the FTP feature it’s a complete disaster. Many crashes and makes some sort of witespace on uploading.

I don’t need anything very fancy, but solid and working.

Discuss what you use and what you think i should use.

What is/are your friend while coding?

I have a bad habbit smoking and drinking coffe when coding. Plus not sleeping until morning.

So.... my best friends are :
1. Coffe
2. Cigaretes
3. TV
4. Music

But, sometimes I was dreaming when coding my friend is a ladies.

What about you ?

Which Shopping Cart do you use?

Which Shopping Cart do you use?

I’m deciding on which cart to use as a headache-free alternative to oscommerce.

I’m looking at Magento, but there is a learning curve involved in modifying it as it is based upon the Zend Framework.
I’ve also played with cubecart and it looks easy to pull apart, but I’m being pulled in by Magento’s expandability and glossy marketing.
I was wondering which carts folks use and why? A prerequisite is the ability to talk to Cybersource.

Whooooo!

Our friends, the Japanese CI User Group, are going to do a presentation of InkType at next month’s Open Source Conference in Nagoya Japan!

The Japanese site

The English translation of the site

It’s great that CodeIgniter and InkType has a place in this event! Just look @ the companies that will be there!

Can you tell I’m a little excited!??!

Recruitment script?

I was asked to find out if there are any free usable “recruitment” scripts out there?
Functionality required:
* The users can:
o Read information about the company.
o View posted jobs
o Search posted jobs
o Use one of the application forms to apply for a position, the application should record data into the database and create a user profile with a CV.
* The site owners can:
o Add/Edit/Delete jobs
o View users profiles and CV’s + Add/Edit/Delete users

I know there isn’t much and any of you will go: thats a couple hours work, but im still a newbie in php and this is a bit too much for me.

I am not asking you to go and look for one for me, just wanted to ask if any of you know a good one?

Any help is much appreciated.

NetBeans IDE for PHP Development

Hello,

Can’t we use NetBeans IDE for PHP Development ? I am asking because it’s free, platform independent and also has a good community around.

I found a URL but don’t know whether it’s useful.

Your thoughts will be helpful to all of our Community.

Thanks in Advance
