Greetings,

I currently have a site built on Codeigniter that has been set up for multiple users. The problem is, right now they cannot interact. That’s where I need you. I realize this may be a little confusing, but, I’m trying my best to explain what I want without giving away my website and the ideas behind it without talking to you first. Here’s what I’m looking for:

1. the ability for the users to bookmark/befriend other users, other user’s activities, or a post in another user’s or community’s activities

2. a javascript bookmarklet for images/links etc. that will post back to my site when the user is on a site other than mine

3. the ability to make friends and have a profile page. Right now, all that the site has is the ability to sign up and get your own page and admin panel, but as far as profile information there isn’t the opportunity yet for the user to input their information. these profiles should have the ability to show “meta, communities, friends, bookmarks, watchlist”. I guess people would probably get a prompt to upload a user photo/avatar which would show on their profile. this is that “social” stuff I was hoping to add to the site.

4. add the ability for the user to not only become friends with another user, but also put their activies on their “Watchlist” for quick referencing, as well as putting specific communities on the user’s “watchlist”

5. some simple breadcrumbs to help the user.

6. right now I am getting some duplicates in my user/content driven site, and I need you to fix and stop the duplicating. In other words, put in an omit that finds duplicates and automatically removes them etc.

This site is getting quite extensive and I need someone(s) who can help me organize and put together a seamless as possible user community. If you can help me with some of these requests I’ll gladly pay you for your work. I am pretty well versed in understanding and putting together websites, it’s just that I’m on a timeline constraint, and need to pay someone to do this stuff for me, unless they are truly amazing and only do pro-bono work. I will try to be involved as much as possible in the process to help out.

Knowing CSS and some design sense is a definite plus, but it’s not required by me for you to apply for this project. I just want someone honest who can turn this project around rather quickly, and would like to help me again in the future.
I will try to explain as much as possible if you have any questions.

Thanks for your time.

Rob
—-
I forgot to add that I don’t care if you use preexisting codeigniter or php scripts as long as they are open source.

This really isn’t a “social network.” It’s more like a community and user driven site, where users can interact aside from the main happenings of the site.

I hope I haven’t led you astray, I just wanted to be sure to let you know this site is not for networking whatsoever, I’m not asking you to build that for me, but I am asking you to help me build on top of my preexisting site a way for users to interact.

I’m currently working on a new feature for my web site. Half of the project is almost done. Software is being created to search a local HD directory for a certain file type, parse the file, then upload the data to a remote database. Now, I need to create a page that will get that data and show it in real time, as the data may be updated regularly within a given day. The site is currently created in CodeIgniter and I would like to keep this enhancement the same format.

Basically I would like a user to go to a page, sit back, and watch data. Similar to web sites showing live stocks but this will be dealing with athlete points and team scores. Some mathematic functions will be required.

Hello to all,

We have a mysql based db that we access via a Codeigniter - PHP written online interface/application. We have some improvements/fixes to bring to the existing solution and also a new enhancement.

The database is information concerning passengers and their services that we manage online.

The phase 2 enhancement consists of linking a new database with hotel information to the passenger’s services. We could that way have access in the same interface to hotel prices (that we would enter and update in-house, no external link needed).

I’m looking for someone that’s really used to working with codeigniter.
Below are the requirements. Please PM or email me if you are interested.

Tables:
User table
• user_id int(4) autoincrement
• user_name varchar(50)

Patient Table
• patient_id int(4) autoincrement
• patient_name varchar(50)

Schedule Table
• sched_id int(4) autoincrement
• user_id int(4)
• patient_id int(4)
• sched_type enum(‘EV’, ‘PN’, ‘DC’)

Requirement 1
• Display and Schedule patient appointments with a specific User or resource.
• To display the calendar, use a similar layout to the example provided. In each cell, display all the patients for that day.
• To Schedule a new appointment, click on the date and go to the “Schedule New Appointment” screen (or window).
• On the “Schedule New Appointment” window, have a select combo field to select a specific Patient.
• To Change or Delete an existing appointment, click on the patient name and go to the Edit / Delete Appointment screen (or window).
• Move forward and backward in months and/or years.
• The cells in this case will look like this:

9:00 patient name 1 EV
12:00 patient name 2 PN

Requirement 2
• Similar to requirement 1, but display the calendar from the Patient’s view.
• In this case we select the Patient instead of the User when displaying the calendar.
• To Schedule a new appointment, click on the date and go to the “Schedule New Appointment” screen (or window).
• On the “Schedule New Appointment” window, have a select combo field to select a specific User Name.
• To Change or Delete an existing appointment, click on the patient name and go to the Edit / Delete Appointment screen (or window).
• The cells in this case will look like this:

8:30 user name1 EV
10:00 user name 2 DC

Hello everyone!

I’m in starting a fansite for a sport MMO game called Football Superstarts (FS)(http://footballsuperstars.com) (Soccer game) and I’m currently beta testing it. As I love communities and starting them as well, I originally came up with the idea of making a site where the different player created teams could make their own leagues on a website. So that’s how FSLeagues.org (FSL) was born.
The idea was well recieved by the FS comminity and the development team too, but I quickly saw other possibilities with the whole project. OK, so we got the league creation/managing thing going on, what came to my mind was a site that could also act as a cross between UEFA and FIFA (the organizations, not the games) combined for FS.
FSL become suddenly much more than just a league management system. I had a little chat with one of the deveopers on IRC not too long ago, and he let slip that they where also planning on making their own API so that sites like FSL could gather data from the game. This is really cool and really vital for FSL to work and the other cool thing is that the devs of FS are 100% behind me on this project, and I think that if I want a specific function from the API then there’s a high possibility that the devs will provide me that. That will also make it a lot easier on my development team (whenever I get it ).
Just remember that these ideas I’ve written here is just really a tip of an iceberg and there’s a lot more to it and it’s going to be huge! Especially since I specifically want the project to be made from sratch because it will be much easier to work directly with the game and all the functionality I want. I’m well aware that it’s a lot of work, and lots of obsticles, but to me….that’s the fun of it.
With that sumarized, I need a few poeple with good PHP skills, and I don’t say no to good AJAX knowledge either.
So, onto the more technical stuff.
The site is going to be written from sratch (too bad we can’t do any demolition…watched too much of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition on YouTube or should this be Extreme Makeover - Web Edition? ) written in PHP (DOH!) and using MySQL/PostgreSQL.
Now, I do have a pretty good dedicated server and a tech guy to run it. The server is also using the Nginx webserver (so no .htaccess *sob*).
I’m alos looking for one or two designers that can help me out with the layout.
A vice-president position is also available that requires a person with good knowledge of web developement.

The site is also going to follow the Web 2.0 trend aswell.
I got a forum setup http://forum.fsleagues.org)

OK, two more things really quick.
To know more of the game and what I really talk about, check it’s homepage (http://footballsuperstars.com) and read about it. There’s pretty amazing stuff there.
Also, check out the thead I made about this project on their forums (http://footballsuperstars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1688).

So if you think you got what it takes? Send me an E-mail, PM or reply to this thread!

And last, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this stuff. I’m NOT sure if this is the right forum to do it in, but well, you’ll never know.

P.S. They even got my thread on their front page! Woo!
